Carles Martinez

Hi I’m Carles,

In 2012 I ruptured my Achilles tendon. After a string of system failures and a whole year of recovery the tendon hadn’t healed properly and I had to have surgery which took me back to square one. The frustration, pain, and the accompanying lack of mobility motivated me to learn how the human body responds to injury and the processes that can aid recovery.

My interest was drawn to Sports and Remedial Massage from this – besides injury recovery it can help optimise training for a wide range of physical activities, improve balance and posture, and help fight every day aches and pains (back, shoulders, neck, etc.). 3 years after my injury I graduated in Sports & Remedial Massage Therapy (Soft Tissue Therapy) (BTEC Level 5) at the Oxford School of Sports Massage in February 2015. To further my education and to enable me not just to “fix” my clients but to equip them with the tools to keep well and pain free, I decided to train as a Pilates teacher. I started my training with Body Control Pilates in January 2017 and qualified in February 2018.

Hi, I’m Carles.  I’m a qualified Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist and Pilates teacher based in Peebles in the Scottish Borders.
